Taking hip-hop in a musical direction
Djbooth.net - The Boombachs may be (as their latest project’s title attests) extraterrestrials, but they go through the same romantic troubles as your ordinary humans
Allhiphop.com - Their vocalist, Adonias “A.D.” Wondwessen, is a dope artist that leads the band with his rhymes, however, the band itself makes the beats that has a life of its own.
The BoomBachs combine hip-hop, jazz, and rock in a way that can only be described as Space Gospel. This term originates from the band's desire to explore beyond the usual chord progressions and lyrical content, to pursue the less explored areas of each genre it draws from. Often compared to The Roots, RH Factor, Muse and A Tribe Called Quest, the group from Denton (TX) combine neck-breaking rhythms with epic soundscapes to create a sound they can truly call their own. This 7-piece band of brothers believes that being in sync personally brings them to a higher performance level, and is evident as they interact on and off stage. The tone of The BoomBachs ranges from uplifting to psychedelic, and tackles topics such as politics, love, existentialism and intergalactic motifs. The BoomBachs believe in taking hip-hop in a musical direction.

The Dallas Art Renaissance is no secret; any consistent visitor of the Deep Ellum Arts District can attest to it’s existence. But it’s momentum needs to harnessed and maximized. How?
The answer is Community. The answer is and always has been STRENGTH IN NUMBERS. In this moment in history, the members of this art scene need UNITY and CENTRALIZATION more than ever...
The Jagoe House is proud to present JagoeFest! Come join us for a very special house show festival featuring 22 bands, plus local artists!
We've worked really hard to book some really great bands who have never played Jagoe before, and we've got something really cool when it comes to the headlining spots. JagoeFest will feature two nights packed full of music both inside and out. We'll also have some local art vendors setup in the backyard for you to check out.
Tickets for JagoeFest are on sale NOW (http://tickets.jagoe.net/) for either individual nights or for both nights. Tickets are limited so don't wait too long to decide! We've got a great lineup and we're excited to share the whole thing with you as soon as we can!
But wait! The JagoeFest lineup is incomplete, and we need YOUR help! We are opening our two headliner spots open to submissions from the community. We opened up submissions from bands who have NEVER played at The Jagoe House. You can vote now (http://fest.jagoe.net/headliners) through January 19th!
Hey artists! If you want to sell your art at JagoeFest, please fill out our application at http://fest.jagoe.net/vendors. We're working with Juniper and Gin to get as many local artists setup for both days as we can, but there is a limited amount of space. Please apply early if you're interested!
As always at Jagoe, you may NOT park in the driveways. You can park on nearby streets. You can also park in the corner parking lot, or at Mr. Chopsticks ONLY AFTER 10 PM. Stay out of the front yard unless you're with the bands. The checkin table will be in the driveway on the left-side of the house. BYOB if you are 21, IDs will be checked. Howdy Doody is across the street and has a great beer selection and will be open until midnight both nights. Please be nice to them! Invite your friends, recycle your bottles and cans, respect our wonderful neighbors, and don't break anything!
Currently, our lineup includes the following bands. We'll update this as it changes.
Drudge, Criminal Birds, Biographies, Felt & Fur, The BoomBachs, Dead Mockingbirds, Vodeo, Bad Mountain, Horace Bray Music, The Soap, Richard Gilbert, Fun Button, Heavy Boots, Lex Lata, The Heavy Hands, Ethan Berman, Texas Sky, Brother, Create, Flint Culp, and Eric Daino of the Holophonics will be performing.
Thanks to Kara Aguayo for our JagoeFest artwork!
